New chairman for Worthing Hospital charity appeal
Darren Crabb has taken up the role as appeal chairman because he knows first-hand how important a second cardiac catheter lab at Worthing Hospital is.
He owes his life to receiving vital heart treatment when he was only 38, and now wants to do everything he can to ensure that other people get the chance that he had.

He said: “I am proud to assist Worthing Hospital in its £1million cardiac appeal to help raise funds to build a second cath lab that will help them assist the growing number of people with a heart condition.
“I decided to become involved with the appeal due to the fact I needed to have a cardiac ablation procedure myself. Without the technology and equipment the cath lab provides, I would not be here today. When the fund-raising is complete and the new cath lab is built, it will be a pleasure to know that lives are being saved from the efforts of the local people within the town.”
During a cardiac emergency, the hospital only has a one-hour window in some cases to treat patients and therefore the cath lab could be the difference between life or death.
