Mystery object on Worthing beach
BEACH officials inspecting an object originally thought to have been a bomb when it was discovered by a dog walker have said it is nothing to worry about.
The cylindrical object was found by Katie Newland, of Marine Parade, at low tide on Monday morning.
She said: “I thought it was an old pot at first but my partner said it was a bomb with its tail missing. It’s got lots of barnacles on it.”

Senior foreshore inspector Graham Cherrett said the images had been sent to the Solent Coast Guard and Explosive Ordnance Disposal in Portsmouth who were ‘not particularly concerned about it’.
