But don’t forget your paintbrush... the research has also revealed the most commonly forgotten tools of the trade.
The top 10 most commonly forgotten items to help with our weekend to do lists are:
1. Masking tape
2. Sandpaper
3. Paintbrushes
4. Screws
5. Paint
6. Dust sheets

According to the poll, it takes us Brits on average just over an hour to properly mow the lawn, an hour and a half to clean the decking and over four hours to paint a room.
And that’s without the procrastination.
More than three-quarters of us admit to putting off projects in the home with 46% of us wasting up to a day before getting started!
