Littlehampton’s band The Nuts give a winning performance
The four-piece rockers romped through to their first victory at the competition, and are now set to perform on the arena stage at Bognor Rox Music and Arts Festival, on Sunday (July 28).
But that’s not all. Band members, Simon Keet, 21, Jack Munnelly, 21, Simon Stewart, 20 and Tom Harfield, 21, are now readying themselves to record their latest song, Sober Up, Go Home, and, as a prize for winning the competition, they will be recording their first live set at record store Nevada Music’s performance stage, where it will be filmed and aired on the company’s YouTube channel, which has more than 20 million views.

Speaking to the Gazette after the win, Simon said: “This is a big step for us. We are really excited that we will be able to bring our music to more people.”
The group first had to win their heat, against five other bands, before they moved onto the grand final.
“We didn’t think that we were going to win at the end,” a modest Simon admitted. “The runners-up, the Last Chance to Escape, were really strong.

“We’ve only ever taken part in a battle of the bands in Littlehampton, before, and we didn’t really get very far.
“So I think this shows how far we have progressed as a band over the past year.”
As well as winning their slot to perform at the Bognor Rox and to be recorded playing at Nevada Music, the band were also presented with a free day’s recording at Airtight Studios, Chichester and a free mix and master courtesy of M!x that Noise, with their finished track being sold, and played, at HMV Chichester.
