During 2013, the members at the Littlehampton branch of Weight Watchers, which meets at the Tamarisk Centre, in Beach Road, have lost a staggering 3,039lbs.
That’s the equivalent of 1,378Kg of pure fat – or the weight of an average hatchback car.

Hide AdLaura Goddard had been a leader with Weight Watchers for more than 24 years. She has praised the determined effort of the group over the past 12 months.
Laura said: “This is an excellent result for us and an improvement over last year’s total. They were obviously a very determined bunch.
“The weight-loss has some real health benefits. People feel more confident and it builds up their self-esteem. They do lots of things that the never used to do before, like running around with the grandchildren or applying for new jobs.”
The group runs at the Tamarisk every Tuesday evening, from 6pm until 7.30pm.
