WARR stands for Wealden and Rother Rural. The WARR Partnership has European funding and in the most recent projects approved is Icklesham Recreation Ground. The WARR Partnership news says’’ Ickenham’s Local Action Plan had identified a need for more recreational facilities for the young. Consultation on how best to meet these needs was widespread and included public meetings with parents, sports clubs, local teenagers and children and teachers from the Village Primary School. Strong support emerged for a new play area, and funding will be used to provide new facilities for children from the ages of 2 to 15 adjacent to the Memorial Hall. The choice of play equipment was made in consultation with children, young people, parents and the local School, to ensure the needs and interests of the wider age group would all be taken into consideration’’.
Other projects supported were village shops in Iden and Blackboys and Westfield Football Club.
