Health week follows half-term at The Laurels First School, Worthing

Not only did they have their sports day on Wednesday, June 5 but the whole school took part in a number of trips and activities throughout the week.
The week’s events included a sponsored hokey kokey, a whole school aerobics session, and a visit from a dental nurse to explain how to maintain healthy teeth. While sports day included more traditional events such as running races.

Hide AdArris Shanahan, sports co-ordinator at the school said: “The kids loved it. They all got involved. The older children supported the younger children. It was a fantastic day.”
The school made the decision to hold the week straight after half-term so that it would get all the children active again after their time off.
Arris said the week definitely had a positive effect on the children.
