Free prostate screening is a success
Organised by Worthing Lions Club and Prostate Cancer Support Organisation (PCaSO), the screening, held at Methold House, North Street, Worthing, saw 204 men tested.
Twenty per cent of these recorded a high Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) level – indicating they would need to see their GP for further investigation. A high PSA level can mean several things, such as an enlarged prostate or infection. It does not necessarily mean anything sinister but it is a good indicator that further investigation is advisable.

Hide AdRoutine screening is not provided by the NHS so Worthing Lions Club teamed up with PCaSO to provide this service to the men of Worthing.
There is a waiting list of 50 men to be tested. As a result, The Lions have decided to stage another testing date at the end of January. Details will be published nearer the time.
