Ford incinerator opposed by parish council
A PARISH council has condemned plans to build an incinerator at Ford Airfield, claiming the plant would release ‘untold numbers of pollutants’ into the area.
In a statement criticising proposals to build an incinerator large enough to power 29,000 dwellings, Ford Parish Council announced it would hold a demonstration, along with MP Nick Gibb, against the plans.
Waste management company Grundon wants to produce energy at the site of the former Tarmac Topblock works by burning a mixture of waste materials, including plastics.
