Fire at East Preston home
AN ELDERLY woman was checked by paramedics following a fire in her warden-controlled flat today (Monday, August 10).
East Preston fire crews were called to the first-floor flat in The Fairlands at 7.55am, after the blaze broke out in a toaster, though it was out when they arrived.
A spokeswoman for the West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said that the woman was not hurt, and the flat suffered five per cent smoke damage.
