Jan Ellis, mother of 18-year-old Tyler, who set up the trust, was thrilled by the news. She said: “It was absolutely amazing; there was no other word for it. There was a real sense of community and of people coming together.”
Tyler’s Trust was the idea of Tyler who had been through fighting against a brain tumour diagnosis.
The trust is now in the process of becoming a registered charity. It hopes to launch a support network for parents of children with cancer and aims to help more children than ever. For details, see www.tylerstrust.co.uk
