The scanner appeal already had £800,000, he added, and said the school was delighted to move it closer to its £1m target.
Most of the money was raised at the school’s Solstice weekend, with additional cash collected during a money mile, where loose change was placed on a tape around the school. The Solstice weekend featured back-to-back fundraising events, including a fête and daisy chain challenge.
