Ex-bowls ace Kit celebrates 100th with friends
Kit Wright, a resident of Greystoke Manor, in Church Lane, Ferring, had two parties to celebrate the occasion, one with family and one with friends.
Kit said: “I’ve tried to keep myself well. I’m a sports lady, I played tennis for Surrey county and I had a trial for England bowls and I was made captain of the team.”
“I’ve had a good life and have had a lot of friends.”

Lillian said: “She’s always been one of our liveliest members with a very positive outlook on life.
“She’s only the second member in the club’s history to reach 100 and we are absolutely delighted that she is still so alert and able.”
Kit had a glass of sherry at lunchtime and opened her birthday card from the Queen.
Joy Warren, 70, of Highdown Way, Ferring, was one of Kit’s friends who visited on her birthday.
She said: “She’s a great laugh really, we’ve had some good times in the past.”
