Eastbourne carpenter found dead at home

David Morgan was found dead at his home in Langney Road on June 29 last year, an inquest heard.
The inquest at Eastbourne Town Hall on Thursday (April 8), heard Mr Morgan was found by his landlady after she hadn’t seen him for a couple of days.

Hide AdDr Varuna Paranahewa told the inquest Mr Morgan had a history of heroin addiction and was working with the local drug and alcohol service - Change Grow Live. Mr Morgan had a number of medical issues including back problems which meant he was on painkillers, Dr Paranehewa said.
Tracey Love, Mr Morgan’s sister, said, “He was a caring and likeable person but he had an abusive childhood so struggled with everyday life.”
She said he became dependent on drugs in his 20s and he was feeling lonely due to lockdown.
Mr Morgan was found in his bedroom on June 29 and toxicology found he had taken heroin.
East Sussex coroner Alan Craze ruled Mr Morgan died from drug toxicity.
