Duncan Burgess, now 32, has had DJ residencies and played drums for various bands across the UK and Europe.
He has organised Bounce, which will be held at Woodies Bar, Chichester, on Saturday and plans to be drumming as part of the free event.

“Dealing with the frustration of having the dominant right side of my body not keep up with my non-dominant left side is the biggest challenge I have had to face so far in my life.
“Although there is currently no cure for Parkinson’s, there is lots of research being done to manage symptoms. Without the medication that I am currently on, I would not be able to continue to play the drums and even though I am now slightly more limited as to what I can do, I will never stop.
“I have had DJ residencies and played drums for various bands, so I thought I would mix them both together and host a fundraising music night, playing drums and DJ-ing with all proceeds going to Parkinson’s UK.

Paul Jackson-Clark, director of fundraising at Parkinson’s UK, said it promised to be a great event for the charity.
“As the UK’s Parkinson’s research and support charity, we’re leading the way to find better treatments and ultimately a cure, but our work wouldn’t be possible without events like these. I hope people get behind Bounce and join Duncan on the dance floor.”
Entry to Bounce is free, with donations to Parkinson’s UK on the night. Visit www.justgiving.com/fundraising/duncandrummer for more information.
