Bungled South Downs caravan theft sparks new police warning

Police say that the caravan had been stolen earlier from a farm barn in Bury.
The thieves dragged it across three fields before abandoning it when they could not move it any further.

Hide AdNow police are warning other caravan owners to fit trackers to their vehicles. Officers say that at least two caravans are stolen every week in Sussex.
A spokesman said: “The culprits often seem to enter property where they are kept through back fields and so are not heard or seen.
“CCTV sadly often only concentrates on the main entrance at the front.”
He urged caravan owners: “Please be aware and if possible fit them with a tracker.”
