Council responds to '˜heartbreaking' wildlife traps in Burgess Hill

Mid Sussex District Council told the Middy today that patrols have been increased following the incident.

Hide AdCouncillor Gary Marsh, cabinet member for service delivery. said: “Officers at MSDC recently received a heartbreaking report of a robin killed in a mouse trap that had been placed in a tree.
“Officers were outraged and disgusted by this and immediately inspected the nature reserve to sadly find nine other traps attached to trees.
“Thankfully none of these had been triggered. The traps were photographed and removed. We have handed the information over to the police to investigate.
“Our park rangers have now increased their patrols in the area. Should any members of the public see any traps, please report them immediately to 01444 458166.”
