Colour, class and cream teas
Visitors packed the Memorial Hall to see stunning and colourful displays and to enjoy a range of homemade cakes, cream teas and strawberries and cream.
Organiser Rose Franks said: “There were wonderful dahlias, gladioli and a good range of other flowers and pot plants. The vegetable judge commented on the high standard of the fruit and vegetable produce despite the vagaries of the weather.

The photography judge and his wife came in the afternoon to give advice and encouragement to the photographic entrants – a new but welcome practice. There were some mouth watering entries in the baking and preserve classes and last but not least, the children produced some very imaginative and colourful exhibits. There were 428 entries overall from 74 entrants.”
She added: “ It was pleasing, once again, to welcome new exhibitors and it is hoped they will get the ‘showing bug’ and be back next year.”
