Sport: It was the Battle of the Pitmans at cricket last Sunday when we played at home against Brightling Park. Josh played for Brightling and his father Tim played for us, greatly contributing to our narrow win. We batted first, with a different line-up caused by several players being unable to play. Tim got 66 runs, Derek Fuller and Tom Bristow-Diamond both getting 28 in our total at tea of 181 for 7. Tim then had to keep wicket for us, while son Josh split his bat reaching 50 eventually falling to a good catch by Mike Davey. Tom Bristow-Diamond finished with 4 for 49, Jonty Lavocah 1 for 21, A Jay 3 for 62 and Scott Lavocah 2 for 13. It was very dark by end of play when Brightling were all out for 174. On Sunday we are away to Crowhurst.
Mobile Library: The East Sussex Mobile Library will be in its usual place outside the Village Hall from 11.55am until 12.30pm on Friday next week 1st July.
