AGM: There will be the Annual General Meeting of the Burwash Jubilee Community Fund on Wednesday at 7pm at The Bear,Motel. You are all welcome to go along. The Jubilee community fund is the result of r
fund raising for the Diamond Jubilee weekend in 2012, when over £4,000 was raised for events to be held in Burwash, Burwash Weald and Burwash Common. After the weekend events were held and receipts had been paid there remained just over £2,00. a committee was formed to oversee the use of this money in the form of loans for any legitimate club or body to set up a project and then returned as soon as possible. Hide AdFair: The pupils, teachers and parents of the Burwash Primary school are holding a summer fair at the school next Friday 12th June. There will be Maypole dancing, cake stall, chocolate tombola, Popcorn, water into wine, hook a duck and so much more. They would be delighted for you all to go along and support them The fun begins at 3pm until 5pm.
Summer show: The Burwash Horticultural Society will be holding their annual Sweet Pea, Rose & Delphinium show next Saturday 13 June, at the pavilion on Swan Meadow Playing fields, Ham Lane Burwash. Schedules are available from the Flower House in Burwash. For this show you do not have to register your entries before the show. As well as the usual flowers there are some unusual classes. like class 23 which is for sweetheart pincushion a tradition of the 19th century. Class 27 is for home made greetings card with a poppy theme and class 28 is England’s green and pleasant land paintings. Children are also given the chance to take part with up to seven year olds and 8 to 11 year olds asked to make a flower arrange in a tea cup and or a mini fruit cake with fondant icing with a pictorial decoration.
