Quiz night: The next monthly fun general knowledge quiz will be held this evening in the Pavilion at Burwash Common. Teams of six are invited to enter at £2 per person. Flower Club: The Burwash and District Flower Arrangement Club will have their first meeting of the year on Monday, this will begin with their AGM. Following on from that they will have a fun workshop at which all equipment will be provided, you need to just go along and enjoy yourselves. There will be a raffle and refreshments. Everyone is welcome to attend and non-members entrance is free. There is no charge made on AGM day, they would just like your support. Hide AdMeeting: The Burwash branch of The Royal British Legion will have a meeting on Monday evening at 8pm at the Rose & Crown. You are all welcome to attend evening if you have never been a member of our armed forces, you just need an interest in the work that they do.
Bowls: The Burwash short mat bowls club were please to welcome three new players who came along to roll up nights on Mondays. Peter & Julie Ellis and 11 year old Milli Carver are really keen and learning fast. We are delighted and hope that after their three weeks free sessions they all decide to become fully paid up members. You too can take up this sport for all ages. Just come along one Monday evening or call Mary Taylor, Secretary on 01435 882107 for more details.
The club are still enjoying some good results in the Wealden league despite some hiccups. Everyone enjoys the challenge of playing against other clubs and meeting new friends. since Christmas we have played at home to Frant winning three and losing one and away to Horam Cannons where we took a two all draw. This gave us ten more league points. Our next game is Thursday at home to Ringmer Tortoises.
Bateman’s: The garden continues to be open for the children with the Children’s Winter Garden trail which is open from tomorrow -Saturday- until week Sunday from 10am to 3pm.. This half term treat is an ideal time to get the kids out of the house to let of steam and explore the gardens. Follow the trail and discover that not everything has gone to sleep. Normal admission costs plus £1.50. Booking is not needed.
