Warren and Scott Dodds, owners of Kaycee Roofing Ltd, were given the task by Sarah and Paul Wehrle of London Road, Burgess Hill. Scott said: “We were honoured to do it, it was a nice thing to do for remembrance, especially it being the 100-year anniversary this year. “It looks brilliant and we are proud of the work.” The historic photo, which is on a postcard, shows a gentleman standing on his head on the roof of the same cottage Sarah and Paul live in commemorating the 1918 Armistice. Paul said: “The name of the chap on the roof is George James Roderick White – according to Burgess Hill Past and Present by Frederic M Avery, which includes a picture. “If anyone can confirm it or give me more information it would be great to hear from them.” Burgess Hill Remembrance Day commemorations in pictures
