Bexhill insurers Hastings Direct looking for 2017 charity partners

Every year the insurance company and its colleagues vote for their local charity partners who will benefit from professional, practical and financial assistance.
So far colleagues have raised £35,000 for their 2016 charity partners, as well as offering professional assistance including social media and public relations training as well as practical support through Hastings Direct’s community days programme.

Hide Ad“Our colleagues go that extra mile to fundraise for our charity partners throughout the year as well as offering support through their skills and expertise,” Hastings Direct’s Jay Wootten said.
“We look forward to receiving nominations for next year’s charity partners.”
This year’s partners have been Care for the Carers, Homecall, Beachy Head Chaplaincy Team and Glyne Gap School.
Hastings Direct employees raised more than £3,400 for Homecall by cycling 126 miles from Newmarket, Suffolk, to Bexhill on September 13.

Hide AdCare for the Carers chief executive Jennifer Twist praised the insurance company for its support this year which has had an impact on her charity’s work.
“We feel very lucky to have been chosen as one of Hastings Direct’s charity partners over the last year,” she said.
“The support they have given us has been fantastic and their colleagues have been very generous with their time and skills.
“Their fundraising has made a real difference to unpaid carers in the county including supporting activities for Young Adult Carers to have fun together and space from their caring roles.”

Hide AdTo be considered, charities must fit the following criteria:
• The charity must be registered via the Charity Commission.
• It must be based within 20 miles of a Hastings Direct office.
• The charity must not be in receipt of government or National Lottery funding.

Hide AdHastings Direct would ask the charity partner to provide a ‘wish list’ of needs for 2017 so it can focus its fundraising on supporting and achieving those needs.
Nominations are to be sent by email to [email protected] by Monday, December 5.
In January, a shortlist will be produced and Hastings Direct colleagues will be invited to vote for their local partners for the year ahead.
