The facility in St George’s Road, in Old Town, has received a £50,000 transformation with funding from Rother District Council and features state-of-the-art equipment based on a pirate theme.
It includes a pirate ship slide tower, crocodile bench seat, seesaw featuring dolphins and sharks and pirate combination unit including a slide, overhead bars and wobbly plank bridge.

Cllr Jonathan Johnson, Rother District Council cabinet member for young people, sport and leisure, said: “The refurbishment has transformed the play area into a really, modern, interactive facility which the children love.
“The wide variety of play equipment on offer provides opportunities for play and social interaction for youngsters from a wide range of ages and abilities, and features equipment not available anywhere else in the district.”
In response to requests from parents, the play area, which had previously become boggy and wet during the winter months, has been fully surfaced with a rubber coating.
