Review: Holiday on Ice, The Brighton Centre
In its 72nd year the ice show takes on the theme ‘Believe’, depicting a modern retelling of Romeo and Juliet without the tragic ending.
The main characters Antonio and Clarissa - played by husband and wife ice extraordinaires Andrew Buchanan and Robin Johnstone - live in very separate worlds. Antonio lives in the Under World, a tough working community ruled by ‘The Boss’. Clarissa lives in the Upper World - ruled by Disney villain-esque pair Julius and Julia - where ‘every day is a party and money is king’. But the two protagonists feel alienated in their own communities, and it’s not long before two very different worlds collide, causing chaos.
