Storrington and Sullington Parish Council announced that, following discussions with two interested parties, it has entered into an agreement with a local community group (Chanctonbury Community Leisure) to form a Board of Trustees to oversee the phased reopening and ongoing operations of Chanctonbury Leisure Centre.
Parish clerk Tracey Euesden said the council has invested a significant amount of funds to bring the centre back to life.

“We are also grateful for the support and advice provided by Horsham District Council and hope that our neighbouring parish councils will contribute towards the future operating costs until such time as the centre can return to solvency.”
The second lockdown period will be used to plan for the phased re-opening, Tracey said, and the council hopes to welcome users from January subject to government restrictions.
She added: “The parish council is delighted to be involved in the revival of the leisure centre and would like to thank the trustees for their endeavours in bringing this highly valued asset back to the community.”
