Cuckfield daffodil sale raises £750 for Marie Curie to support National Day of Reflection

Belinda Campopiano, owner of Chez Fleur, said: “The sale went really well and was generously supported by so many people in the village and from Warninglid too.”
“After expenses, I am delighted to report that we raised £750.”

Hide AdThe shop also sold daffodil print face masks, which raised a further £100.
“The helpers on the day (Saturday) were Jo Bowen, Gemma Stapleton, Jackie Willis, Judith Hallett, Katie Mayo and Jane Godsmark,” said Belinda, adding that she stayed all day to take contactless payments with her Chez Fleur sum-up app.
“We returned on the Sunday and had sold out by midday,” she added.
Belinda encouraged people buying daffodils to put them in their window and share a photo on social media under the hashtag #daffodilsinthewindow to raise awareness.

Hide AdThe daffodil is Marie Curie’s emblem and the charity runs an annual daffodil appeal, which Belinda has supported for years.
“So many people commented on how glad they were to be able to support the charity and the daffodils are sure to cheer up everyone’s windows this week,” said Belinda.
