Council to review future of Henfield Day Centre
Henfield Day Centre in Hewitts, just off High Street, has been placed under review by West Sussex County Council (WSCC) and could face closure due to financial restraints and a drop in demand.
Local resident Rosemary French, 67, is a full time carer for her husband who suffers from Alzheimer’s, and uses the centre twice a week for a bit of respite and to catch up on everyday chores.

The county council that funds the centre, said that in the event of a closure it would ‘find alternatives for the customers’.
A spokesman for WSCC said: “We are consulting on how day services will be provided at Henfield in the future and no decision has been made.
“This is all being carried out in consultation with customers and their families and should the decision be taken to close the building we will look to find alternatives for the customers.

“The point is the service has to be delivered in a more cost effective manner.”
A public consultation meeting on the service took place on Monday, April 28.
