Hastings schools start mass testing for Covid-19

The Hastings Academy and The St Leonards Academy have temporarily converted learning space into an on-site testing station during national lockdown.
Hannah Carter, interim principal of The St Leonards Academy, said: “This has been a positive and reassuring step towards welcoming as many of our students and staff back as soon as we can. We are glad to be able to support the ongoing testing efforts happening in the community.”

Hide AdDr John Smith, chief executive of the University of Brighton Academies Trust, said: “I’m incredibly proud of all our staff who have worked tirelessly to prepare our secondary academies across East and West Sussex to start the roll-out of the national mass testing Covid-19 programme in earnest.”
“This is an exciting development in the national efforts to control the spread of this virus, and one I feel is a positive step towards welcoming our students back into a safe learning environment.”
