Coronavirus: ‘Dangerous’ A23 graffiti urges people to ‘stay at home’
The message, on the northbound lanes, reflected the nationwide call for people to stay at home to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak.
A spokesman for Highways England, which is responsible for this road, said: “This is extremely dangerous as the A23 is a busy road and the perpetrator is not only risking their own lives but also those of people using the A23.

“The paint used is very poor quality, is wearing quickly and will disappear with wear and rain. Our maintenance teams are observing the signs and will close the road to remove them if necessary.”
