Year 11s celebrate at Bourne Community College leavers’ prom
Arriving in lavish dresses, suits and immaculately groomed hair, they alighted a variety of unique and performance vehicles, among which was a Cheshire Fire engine (siren blaring) and an American muscle car producing smoke from a tyre burnout!
This was a record year for the school with its largest turnout (including staff) attending.
Mr Griggs, leader of Year, said: ‘This was a particularly popular and very close knit Year group. They will be sorely missed. I joined the school at the same time as them and have watched them mature into the lovely young people we have here today. All staff at Bourne wish them the very best for their future and hope they stay in touch with the school to share in all of their successes.’
Pupils were treated to speeches from their Head Boy (Spencer), Head Girl (Ellie), Tutors, Leader of Year and Headteacher, Mrs Watkins, before the Prom King (Tom) and Prom Queen (Jasmine) were announced.
Having enjoyed a buffet selection of food, the evening ended with a disco on the longest day of the year and to the backdrop of the sun setting over Langstone Harbour.
