Staff at the specialist dementia care home, in Manor Road, have started setting creative challenges each month during lockdown to keep the residents active.
They turned plastic bottles into poppies for Remembrance Sunday and placed 28 poppies along the wall, one for each resident.

Lisa Moulding, manager, said: “The residents painted and detailed all the poppies and the staff got involved, too. We are so proud of our residents and we wanted to show it may take them longer but if you break down the task, they will accomplish it.
“Being in lockdown, we are trying to be creative during these challenging times. We have set ourselves monthly challenges to keep our residents active and involved, and most importantly doing activities that they enjoy.”
The first challenge was dancing in October, with support from Worthing town crier Bob Smytherman and Maggie the Wunder Dog.

“This challenge brought so much fun and laughter among the staff and residents. We have posted all our fun and games on our Facebook page, which helps our residents’ families to see what their loved ones have been getting up to during this time when they are unable to visit.
“One of our future challenges is to get a wave from Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain.”
