Student shines on organ
He currently studies with Tom Bell, who was part of the duo the previous week. Jonathan’s technique is awesome and his articulation very impressive indeed.
His programme took us from Bach, Father and son C.P.E. to Edward Marsh, born in the latter part of the 20th century. His piece was a ‘toccata influenced by a well-known TV mail operative possessing a monochrome feline.’ entitled Pat le facteur. Work it out for yourselves. We also heard the lovely, gentle Farewell to Stromness by the Master of the Queen’s Music, Sir Peter Maxwell Davies.
