Chichester: Music festival conclusion
Chairman Jenie Pressdee is delighted with the way things have gone.
“Having started on February 6 with guitars, speech & drama and musical theatre classes, we finished with our piano classes. The standard throughout the festival has been very high and we have had excellent feedback from our visiting adjudicators who have enjoyed the friendly atmosphere of the different venues in and around Chichester.

“It was an amazing event which ended with the adjudicator Mark Wardell conducting the whole audience and inspiring them with community singing. The piano classes were adjudicated by Mark Tanner who had recently returned from examining in Australia. His comments were generous and encouraging to those who took part but he particularly enjoyed the open classes on Sunday afternoon when Timothy Rumsey gained first place to win the Kathleen Chuter Challenge Cup.
“Our next and final event of the Festival is our festival concert to be held at Westbourne House School, Chichester on Sunday next, March 20 at 6.30pm. It will be once again a superb night of excellent talent from Chichester and the surrounding area in the company of civic dignitaries, VIPs and supporters and candidates from the festival. Special awards will be presented on the night as well as two Rotary trophies to the most entertaining junior and senior performances.
“Tickets are obtainable from Ackermans Music in West Street, Chichester or on the door at the Millennium Hall at Westbourne House School on the day.”
